The AIDS Resource Center (ARC) has produced a 30 minute docu-drama promoting voluntary counseling and testing for HIV in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The docu-drama will be shown in waiting rooms of health facilities and Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) sites in Ethiopia.The purpose of the video is to1. Improve health facilities clients understanding of VCT.2. Reassure the audience that VCT services are provided with detail pre and post test counseling services.3. Improve peoples attitudes towards VCT.4. Stimulate and motivate people who have not gone for VCT to seek the service.5. Educate people about the difference between HIV and AIDS and the risks of HIV transmission.6. Encourage people to discuss VCT and HIV/AIDS with others.The primary audience for this video is 18 to 35 year old men and women in Addis Ababa who have visited health facilitiesfor any reason or who have visited VCT sites for counseling and testing services.
